At Santa Clara of Assisi we offer a strong academic program to form our students as saints and scholars, and to prepare them for the college or career of their choice. Click the links below to learn more about our curriculum.
Our middle school program is from 6th-8th grade and includes Spanish as a subject.
In our Genesis Lab, students are prepared for life and for 21st century jobs. Kindergarten through 5th grade go to STEM class and Middle School takes Family Consumer Science classes such as Food Science, Architecture, and Personal Finance.
Sacramental preparation is included in the school day. Students have the opportunity to make their first reconciliation and receive first Holy Communion in 2nd grade, and students in grades 3-8 have the opportunity to receive those sacraments if they have not already done so. Students are prepared to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in 8th grade.
We offer a well-rounded academic program. All students attend art, music, and physical education classes and go to our library on a weekly basis.
Our school uses the Saints and Scholars curriculum standards from the Diocese of Dallas. These standards are an adaptation of the TEKS that are grounded in Catholic Identity and stream-lined to provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students in our Catholic Schools.

In the 2021-2022 school year, we purchased Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's dual language textbooks and resources for grades K-5th. This is a comprehensive language arts program which is complete and equitable in both English and Spanish. It includes targeted grammar, phonics, spelling, writing, and reading comprehension instruction in both languages with a large variety of authentic and multi-cultural texts. The texts read by students focus on themes or virtues such as bravery, community, culture, stewardship of the earth, and more.
We are proud of our Outdoor Classroom, which offers students many hands-on experiences for science.
Although we use textbooks for the science classes, we also have many hands-on science kits from Lakeshore and FOSS to help students make real life connections.
Science is taught in Spanish for grades PreK through 5th grade.
Grades Kindergarten through 5th grade use the Texas version of Science Fusion in Spanish, which is aligned to the TEKS and focuses on hands-on experiential learning.
In middle school, each grade level has a specific focus, and uses text books specific to that content area:
In the 2022-2023 school year we updated our math curriculum to a new program. This is an American adaptation of Singapore Math, which is world-renowned for leading students to excellence in math.
The Singapore Math model focuses on the concrete -> pictorial -> abstract progression, out of the belief that students will better understand abstract math concepts if they have first experienced them through hands-on materials and visual models.
We teach this math program in a way that is fully aligned to our Diocesan curriculum standards.

Our Social Studies program is grounded in Catholic Social teaching, particularly in our call to live in community with one another, respect for human dignity, and care for the poor and vulnerable. These Catholic values are the lense through which we study history and what it means to live as a community.
In our dual language program, Social Studies is taught in Spanish for grades PreK through 5th grade, with weekly vocabulary enrichment in English.
In grades PreK through 3rd grade, students learn an age-appropriate variety of concepts related to history, geography, communities, government, and economics.
For grades 4th through 8th grade, each grade level has a specific focus:
